~Fresh Flowers~

It's amazing how just a pop of color like the pink in these Camelia blooms can make an impact on a room or even brighten your day.  This time of year it's exciting when things start to bloom in my garden and I love to bring them into my house, especially the bathroom.

During the dark rainy days of Spring it's nice to have fresh cut flowers to help remind me that the sun will come out again another day.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

These blooms don't have very long stems, so I decided to place them in a very small old enamel pitcher that I bought years ago.  What a better place to enjoy them than on my dresser turned vanity.

The bush that these blooms came from was one of the first things that we planted when we first moved to our property 19 years ago.  Camelias are such an old fashioned flower and I often see huge bushes, some even looking more like trees in front of old houses while I'm driving the country roads around here.

I hope everyone is enjoying Spring and things are warming up where you are. I've been very busy lately with kids' activities, working out in my yard when the weather permits and getting ready for the Farm and Frills Show coming up May 10th.

  2. I love the candle sconces on each side of the vanity mirror! Can you tell us a little more about them? They look like they were originally electrified. We're they a vintage find?
    Thanks!

Are you ok without glass on the top of that vanity? I'll be installing a dresser in mine and thought I'd have to have a glass cut!

  6. Very pretty, Kathleen! That bit of color from your blooms is just perfect in your bathroom. Nothing to cut here yet, but I'm looking forward to some blooms from the hydrangeas and rose bush I planted here around the condo this year. I've been tempted to buy a bouquet from the grocery store and just split it up and place around the house.

  28. I'm sure it is lovely after your cold winter to be able to bring these gorgeous spring blooms inside Kathleen. Our summer blooms like frangipanis and hibiscus are just on their last, which means winter is on the way and there will be slim pickings in the garden. Hope your days of spring sunshine are increasing so you can get out to your beautiful garden again.
    Hugs ~ Kerryanne
